Garlic Lemon Green Beans
I needed a side for a Friendsgiving in a few hours, and no one had put green beans on the menu yet, so I decided to try something new.

Cook time: 25 minutes
Ingredients
- 2 lb fresh green beans
- 1 small yellow onion
- 8–10 cloves of garlic
- 1 lemon
- Olive oil
- Salt
Steps
- Snap the ends off the green beans and then snap them into pieces about 3/4 inch long.
- Place the green bean pieces in a colander and rinse thoroughly.
- Dice the onion and garlic separately.
- Put olive oil in a pan and bring to a medium heat.
- Add the diced onion to the pan.
- Sauté the onion until it begins to brown, stirring often to prevent burning.
- Add the green bean pieces and garlic.
- Add salt and the juice of the lemon.
- Juice the lemon over a strainer into the pan to prevent seeds from getting in the dish
- Sauté until the green bean pieces are starting to soften but are still crunchy.
- The pieces will begin to shrivel and brown at the edges.
- Remove from heat and serve.
